"Primer"

From the official site:

Primer

As a physicist I tend to get infuriated by time travel movies. I anticipate this may buck that trend. Does not star a hobbit.

Seriously though... the trailer doesn't give much away but it does look like it steers clear of most of the major clichés. I'll be watching this one.

Score: 9/10

"Slipstream"

from the Sci-Fi London film festival website:

Slipstream

As a physicist I tend to get infuriated by time travel movies. I do not anticipate this bucking that trend. Stars a hobbit. As a physicst.

Score: 5/10

Postscript: Sci-Fi London is an awesome little (well, it was little three years ago) film festival - they were the first to show "Blair Witch" in this country. If you can go, do go.

"Cube Zero"

From iFilm:

Cube Zero

"Cube" was a great movie. "Cube 2: Hypercube" was most definitely not. Based on this trailer "Cube Zero" could go either way. Looks like it goes 'behind the scenes' of the Cube which I suspect will please a lot of people. Then again, it could end up ruining it all...

Score: 9/10

UPDATE: Just realised this is already out on DVD ... Whadda ya know?

UPDATE: I could have made that clearer, "Cube Zero" is available on Region 1 DVD only.

"Bloodrayne"

From somewhere or other:

Bloodrayne

Uwe Boll is obviously trying to challenge Paul W.S. Anderson for the title of King of the Computer Game Adaptation Movie. Kristanna Loken is a hottie, no doubt, but I have a horrible feeling that she did her best acting in T3 with a total of about four lines. Michael Madsen is great, he's always great. Ben Kingsley's got an Oscar (and been nominated for three more), but this just looks terrible. A bad trailer for what I imagine will be a bad movie.

Score: 1/10

"Ten 'til Noon"

From the official site:

Ten 'til Noon

Cool-looking trailer for an as-yet-unfinished indie (albeit a bunch of guys who are Bryan Singer's mates' mates). The same ten minutes time period viewed from ten different characters' perspectives. Not a ground-breaking concept, but I'll watch it if it makes it to a cinema near me.

Score: 8/10

"Man of the House"

From the official site:

Man of the House

Tommy Lee Jones does the Comedy Witness Protection Movie™. Also stars 'Cedric The Entertainer'. Looks dire.

Score: 4/10

"Kung Fu Hustle"

From Apple Trailers:

Kung Fu Hustle

Almost certainly the only martial arts trailer soundtracked to "Ballroom Blitz"...

Score: 9/10

"What is it?"

From the official site:

What is it?

Absoluely batshit insane. Crispin Glover's (you read the URL and thought 'Crisping Lover' too, right?) magnum opus, ten years in the making apparently.

Score: Q/10

UPDATE: Looks like Crisping didn't buy enough bandwidth...

January 22, 2005

"Corpse Bride"

From Apple Trailers:

Corpse Bride

New animated film from Tim Burton a la "The Nightmare Before Christmas".

January 19, 2005

"Fantastic Four"

From Apple Trailers:

Fantastic Four (I'm sure the missing definitive article is important)

THE THING LOOKS AWESOME!

That is all.

Score: 8/10

Trailer News: No more adverts?

Some guy in the States wants to force cinemas to publish the time the movie starts (as opposed to the time the programme starts). Good news for trailer fans?

Google News has the same story from various sources.

(Via Ars Technica)

"The Jacket"

From iFilm:

The Jacket

Starring Adrien Brody, Keira Knightly, "Grizzly" Kris Kristoffffferson. Adrien Brody is a guy incorrectly imprisoned in a Loony Bin, run by an evil Doctor who locks people in a morgue freezer wearing a special jacket. Why? So they can see the future. Or Something. Looks interesting, but alas, goes for the old Quick Sequence Of Images Over Music Getting Louder™ ending.

Score: 6/10

"King's Ransom"

From the movie's official site:

King's Ransom

Starring Anthony Anderson, also known as That Big Fat Guy Who's In Everything, which is bad news right from the start. A very, very standard trailer ('King' is the name of the main character, it's his ransom) filled with very, very standard jokes. Will probably not be as bad as The Big Hit though.

Score: 2/10
